Aaron Burnett
Aaron Burnett is a Juno nominated family entertainer with an elementary teaching background.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival describes him as 'one of Canada's most treasured performers and musical educators'.
His original songs about Canadian animals feature toe-tapping bluegrass rhythms, intriguing stories and a warm sense
of humour to involve all ages in his performances. His concerts are highly interactive as he is joined by his wife, Kim,
who leads the audience with fun actions and American Sign Language to many songs.
Aaron has played international children's festivals in Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, as well as the Canmore and Winnipeg Folk Festivals, Teddy Bear's picnics, numerous festivals in small towns across Manitoba and in many schools from Ontario to B.C. He has performed at several Australian schools and at the U. of Houston celebrating 100 years of Montessori Schools in Texas. Aaron has appeared in concert with Fred Penner as a special guest and has performed at Children's Hospital on many occasions. For many summers he has played the western national parks like Riding Mountain, Jasper, Banff, Yoho and Revelstoke helping families enjoy Canada's outdoors. In the winter Aaron has introduced young children (2-7) to live music as part of the Winnipeg Folk Festival?s ?Little Folk? classes.
Aaron recently completed his fourth CD entitled, ?Think Green?. Ideas for many of these catchy songs with a varied musical feel were inspired by song writing workshops in elementary schools where sustainability is an important curricular subject. Aaron?s first three CDs 'Call of the Wild', 'Get Off the Couch' and 'Canadian Critters' are all critically acclaimed. This year (2017) Aaron has taken his music to Brazilian schools to help young students learn English.
